Official Public Notice: City Service Updates, Health Alerts, and Environmental Advisories

Administrative Office Closures
The San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk (ARCC) has issued a notice that all office locations will be closed to the public on Thursday, February 12, 2026. This closure is scheduled for mandatory all-team training. Normal operations and customer services are expected to resume on Friday, February 13. While ARCC offices are unavailable, other County of San Diego departmental services remain open and operational during their standard business hours.
Coastal Health and Water Quality Advisories
The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality (DEHQ) has issued a General Rain Advisory for all coastal beaches and bays. This advisory is currently in effect and is projected to remain through February 14, 2026. Residents and visitors are strongly advised to avoid water contact, including swimming and surfing, for at least 72 hours following significant rainfall due to elevated bacteria levels from urban runoff.
- Beach Closures: The Tijuana Slough and Imperial Beach shorelines remain closed due to sewage contamination and high bacteria levels.
- Bacterial Advisories: Increased bacteria levels have been detected at La Jolla Cove, the Children’s Pool, and the Campland shoreline in Mission Bay. Avoid water contact in these specific zones until further notice.
- Mussel Quarantine: A statewide annual quarantine on the recreational harvesting of mussels remains in effect to protect the public from potential biotoxins.
Public Health Alerts: Measles and Influenza
County health officials are urging San Diego residents to ensure their vaccinations are up to date following a surge in regional health concerns. While no local cases of measles have been confirmed as of this week, five cases in neighboring Los Angeles and Orange counties have prompted a local health advisory. Additionally, the region is experiencing a spike in Influenza A cases, with over 700 new instances reported in the last week alone.
