A man was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood during an early-morning confrontation in a parking lot near Logan Avenue. Police said the suspect fled and had not been located as of the latest public update.

What police say happened

San Diego police reported that the stabbing occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Logan Avenue near the Willie Henderson Sports Complex. Investigators said the 33-year-old victim was sitting in a car with his girlfriend when another man approached and told him to leave the parking lot. Police said an argument followed and the suspect produced a knife, stabbing the victim about 10 times.

The victim was transported to a hospital. Police said his injuries were not expected to be life-threatening and that he was expected to recover.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 30s. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie, a black baseball cap and dark-colored pants. Police said the suspect ran from the scene in an unknown direction.
