Federal judge sentences Cameron Fulston to 12 years in fentanyl case tied to Carlsbad death

12-year federal sentence follows plea in overdose death of 25-year-old Danielle Good

A federal judge in San Diego sentenced Cameron William Fulston, 31, to 12 years in prison on Feb. 6, 2026, after he pleaded guilty to coordinating a fentanyl transaction tied to the overdose death of Danielle Good, a 25-year-old woman from Carlsbad.

Good was found unconscious in a bathroom at a Mission Valley apartment complex shortly after midnight on Sept. 10, 2023. She was taken to a hospital and remained comatose. She was removed from life support five days later, authorities said.

What prosecutors said happened the night of the overdose

Case records describe a chain of events beginning with a conversation initiated over social media that prompted Good to travel to San Diego on the night of the overdose. Prosecutors said Fulston coordinated the deal, while co-defendant Bryan Kim Bullard was with Good at the apartment and provided her the fentanyl.

During the medical emergency, prosecutors said Bullard messaged Fulston seeking naloxone, commonly known by the brand name Narcan, but neither man immediately contacted emergency responders. A 911 call was later placed from the victim’s phone reporting an overdose; prosecutors said Bullard fled the apartment before officers arrived.

Emergency responders located Good unconscious in the bathroom and began life-saving measures before she was transported for medical care.

Separate sentences for the two defendants

Fulston’s 12-year sentence is separate from Bullard’s punishment in the same federal case. Bullard, 44, received a 20-year prison sentence in July 2025 after being convicted of distributing fentanyl in connection with Good’s death. Prosecutors alleged Bullard delayed calling 911 for more than an hour after first indicating he needed Narcan and left the scene before help arrived.

Investigators cited digital evidence and communications as part of the government’s account of what occurred in the hours before and during the overdose response, alongside law-enforcement dispatch timelines from the Mission Valley apartment complex.
