Arrest follows reports involving students and a separate incident involving an adult woman

A 49-year-old Escondido man was arrested Thursday in connection with a series of reported indecent exposure incidents, including allegations involving students near Orange Glen High School, authorities said. The suspect was identified as Hector Santa Maria Toledo.

Investigators allege the man exposed himself to underage victims while seated inside a parked white car near Orange Glen High School on two separate mornings: Jan. 14, 2026, and Feb. 2, 2026. Police said the incidents were reported promptly after the students documented the vehicle and its license plate and notified school staff.

Timeline of reported incidents

  • Dec. 18, 2025: A woman later reported she was the victim of a similar incident while walking through a parking lot in the 2400 block of East Valley Parkway in Escondido.

  • Jan. 14, 2026: Police received a report involving students near Orange Glen High School.

  • Feb. 2, 2026: A second report involving students near the same campus area was documented.

  • Feb. 4, 2026: After seeing social media posts about the school-area incidents, the adult woman reported the Dec. 18 event to police.

  • Feb. 12, 2026: Police announced the arrest and booking of the suspect.

Charges and custody status

Toledo, an Escondido resident, was booked into county jail in Vista on suspicion of five counts of annoying or molesting a minor and one count of indecent exposure, police said. He was being held on $110,000 bail pending an arraignment that authorities said was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Ongoing investigation and request for additional victims

Police said they are investigating whether there are additional victims and believe the suspect may be connected to other indecent exposure incidents within Escondido. Detectives asked anyone who believes they may have been targeted in a similar way to contact the Escondido Police Department’s assigned investigator.

Authorities emphasized that witnesses and victims who come forward can provide key details that help investigators determine whether incidents are connected and support potential additional charges.

Orange Glen High School is located at 2200 Glenridge Road in Escondido. Police did not announce additional details about the suspect’s court case beyond the allegations, booking information, and the scheduled arraignment.
